Welcome to my website! I am a Bulgarian-born Australian artist working in oil painting, printmaking, drawing, illustration and ceramics. My paintings, which encompass both the figurative and the abstract, are created using classical music from composers across different periods in a unique synthesis of idea, music, and visual art. My monoprints are created with an original printmaking technique, which I invented in the 1980's, that brings the bright, lucid colours of oil painting to the world of the graphic medium. Numerous books and wine labels have been illustrated by me as well. Besides my artistic work, I also write poetry and children's stories.

On this site everyone can experience something of my art by browsing a large collection of paintings, monoprints, ceramics etc., reading short essays, explanations and artist statements, and searching for artworks after a given composer. There is also a small selection of my poems in both English and Bulgarian.

About my art

I create my paintings using classical music, weaving in the works of composers from the Renaissance and Baroque to the Postmodern periods to form a unique synthesis of idea, music and visual art.

My recent project called Altar of the Resurrected Sun (under the Projects menu at the top) collects a number of my paintings together and is one of the best introductions to my art for everyone who has never seen it before. Information about the music associated with individual paintings can be seen next to each painting via the Oil Paintings Navigation page (under the Artworks menu) and also when browsing chronologically or searching by composer – see below. Regarding the musical connection in my paintings in general, I have written an explanation on the Art and Classical Music page. Multimedia overviews of all facets of my art can be seen in the form of YouTube videos on the Video Series page (also under the Projects menu).

Besides the Altar project and Music pages, the Oil Paintings navigation page, as well as the artist statements spread around the site and synopses for individual works give additional information on my paintings and art in general. The page dedicated to the printmaking technique I have created provides insight into my unique monoprints, while the Biography page and CV provide a chronological overview of my artistic life and work as a whole.

My works have been successfully exhibited and sold throughout Australia and abroad. In the past I have worked with TVH Gallery (Sydney), Istral Gallery (Sydney), BMG Gallery (Adelaide), Greythorn Galleries (Melbourne) and Gallery O (Perth).
