Seeds in Nature are something quite amazing: they are so small, but what grows from them is completely different – for example, a large tree! They contain something hidden that can grow into something beautiful and similar to what it was – seeds carry something of life.
I have called this collection of paintings "Seeds", because I see my paintings as though they are seeds of ideas, thoughts and experiences. Sown in the people's hearts and minds, these seeds will give their fruits, which are the messages hidden within the colours, shapes and forms. For this to happen it is nesassery for one to meditate over and think while looking at the paintings. And before the meditating eye a whole world will appear – not just a world of colours and forms, but of new and inspiring thoughts and images.
Each painting has a dominating colour and there is a special meaning in this. For instance, yellow represents Wisdom, blue – Hope and Truth, pink – Awakening, white- Purity, Amethyst – Kindness and so on.
As always, I have been inspired by the art of the Old European Masters, and the music of modern classical composers. All the paintings are done with the noble wish to uplift people, to give them joy and pleasure , and last – but not least – to give them food for thought.
This collection of paintings contains another one of my important series, consisting of four works: "Queen of Spades", "Mizraim, Mizraim (Seeds, Seeds)" (after which the whole collection is named), "Forest Fairytale", and "Salome", which were created to the music of Martinu, Weinberg, Hindemith and Shostakovich.
